IMPLEMENTATION - Phase II:
PILOT PROJECT: Management System Makeover - Implementation to ISO Standards
|

Content

|
Management Systems implementation to ISO - international standards (ISO 9001 for Quality, ISO 14001 for
Environment, OHSAS 18001 for Occupational Health & Safety and ISO 19011 for Auditing) is rapidly
becoming a fundamental requirement for doing
business. It has become essential to provide
stakeholders, government, financial institutions,
insurance companies, customers, as well as the
general public, the assurance that your company has
systems, practices and controls in place for
managing your risks, i.e. environment, health, safety and
quality, to a criteria that is understood around the world.
Pilot's first phase in assisting clients in implementing a management system is training.
The second phase is strategic planning for implementing a management system, following Pilot's proven "Three Step Process", which has been followed by'
companies since 1994. We assist in design and development of an effective and efficient management system structure to
improve your company's operations and support your goals and mission. We believe in integration of management systems, not
duplication of efforts for quality, environment, health & safety. By identifying your risks for all areas you improve
performance, productivity and profits.
A management system
following the ISO criteria will assist in providing a framework which improves your operations, provides
a defence for due diligence, as well as providing a process approach to managing. Your management system
structure will be understood to have identified it's risks and put in place controls for responsibilities,
training, operational control, monitoring and measurement. A documented system with internal and external audits to ensure
that your system is working and reviewed. Investors today want to be assured that companies they deal with and invest in have a solid foundation with a
management teams that adhere to structure and controls for success.

LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT
& MANAGEMENT

WHY LIFE CYCLE CONCEPT IS RELEVANT TO
ENVIRONMENT?
The need to do something about the improvement of
our environment is a great concern today. The
question is, however, exactly what are we referring
to - the green house effect, the ozone layer? Or
perhaps our concern should be the exhaustion of
mineral resources, or the survival of wildlife?
It has become clear that the environment cannot
continue to bear a burden any longer. Both
pollution and extraction impact on the environment.
Emissions involve the release of a substance into
the environment, while the use of raw materials
involves the extraction of substances from the
environment.
Life Cycle Management (LCM)
Life Cycle Management (LCM) is about minimizing
environmental burdens throughout the life cycle of
a product or service. The life cycle includes all
activities that go into making, using, transporting
and disposing of a product. We recommend that once your management system structure is in place that you look at Life Cycle Management.
